Santa Clarita Valley Living
The
Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in
Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County
and
Ventura counties.
The
scenic community of Santa Clarita is located 35 miles
northwest of Los Angeles and sits between the dramatic Santa
Susanna and San Gabriel mountain ranges. The city prides
itself on recently ranking as the sixth safest city in the
United States of all cities over 155,000 in population. With
its unique blend of …..
…..rural, old west
heritage and urban sophistication, this fast-growing city has
established an enviable balance between quality living and
quality growth. In addition to the low crime rate, Santa
Clarita is one of the fastest growing cities in Southern
California. The reasons are many: good schools, affordable
housing, a sunny climate, numerous work and recreational
opportunities and friendly residents.
The real
estate market is comprised mainly of single-family homes with
varying styles such as ranch, traditional,
Spanish-Mediterranean and contemporary. Single-family detached
homes start.....
.....at $190,000 and
can reach up to $5 million for homes that offer more amenities
(such as maids quarters, horse facilities, RV parking, etc.).
Condominiums and town homes in this area start at $190,000 and
can reach up to $875,000.
There are many
recreational opportunities available in the area. One of the
Santa Clarita Valley’s most distinctive and best-loved
features is its system of landscaped pedestrian walkways known
as “paseos” located in the Santa Clarita community of Valencia
that meander through residential neighborhoods and connect to
the community trail system that joins homes, schools, parks,
recreation centers and the Valencia Town Center Regional Mall.
These walkways total more than 25 miles in length and continue
to expand. In addition to this great trail system, there are
lakes nearby for various water sports and also a variety of
trails for hiking or riding your bike.
Six Flags
Magic Mountain attracts more than 3 million visitors annually
to the Santa Clarita Valley, and Castaic Lake brings 1.5
million visitors. Other great ways to relax include horseback
riding through the hills; touring William S. Hart's
magnificent Spanish Colonial mansion; water skiing and boating
at Castaic Lake; and golfing on public or private courses. The
Vasquez Rocks in Agua Dulce offers a dramatic natural setting
and has been used as the site for hundreds of movies and
commercials.
The Santa Clarita
Valley is bordered by Lake Piru area, Los Padres National
Forest, and Castaic Lake to the northwest, Sierra Pelona
Mountains and Angeles National Forest to the north and
northeast, San Gabriel Mountains to the east and southeast,
and Santa Susana Mountains to the south and southwest, and
Ventura County and the Santa Clara River Valley to the west.
Santa Clarita Valley is connected to the nearby
San Fernando Valley by the Fremont Pass in the southern section of Santa
Clarita Valley. Santa Clarita Valley is also connected to
other valleys such as the Antelope Valley by Antelope Valley
Freeway and Soledad Canyon (going northeast), and the Santa
Clara River Valley by California Sate Route 126.
